About

Hey there! I’m Ariana and I’m from the state of Massachusetts in the United States. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Spelman College in English and two Master’s degrees from Simmons University in History and Library & Information Science with a concentration in Archival Management. After about 3 years of working as an archivist, I found myself looking for a different purpose in life. I am passionate about traveling and becoming a better global citizen. I became a travel agent & travel coach, and I am a freelance travel writer. I recently became TEFL certified to continue my mission toward assisting in global communication. I have 140-hours of English teaching experience and am open to teaching online and in-person abroad. I like to focus on natural, authentic English and the advanced grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation needed for speaking at a high level. I enjoy working with teenagers and adults, especially teaching IELTS prep and Business English to professionals especially those working in the tourism industry. My teaching style is to create unique and relatable lessons, exercises & activities, and homework, that will target your weaknesses, so you are able to improve quickly and efficiently. Our first lesson is to familiarize ourselves with one another. We will assess your learning level, goals, and expectations. From that first lesson, I can create personalized lesson plans that target your weaknesses and allow you to get closer to reaching your goals. It is important to me that I ensure that you are enjoying your time spent with me learning English. I will use videos, literary works, and games to assist in our lessons and promote natural conversations about topics we both find interesting. As a traveler and global citizen, and based on my fields of interest, it should be clear that I love learning about different cultures and their histories. Therefore, I find teaching English so fascinating. Please allow me to assist you on your journey to learn to speak, write, read, and listen in English at a level of fluency, or near fluency.
